India may see a fresh Covid wave as soon as August-end, which may peak with less than 1,00,000 infections a day in the best-case scenario or nearly 1,50,000 in the worst scenario, IIT researchers have said. The wave will mostly likely peak in October, but it also depends on factors like more infectious variants emerging, and how the cases are managed in Maharashtra and Kerala. We speak to Professor Mathukumalli Vidyasagar, Head, National Covid-19 Supermodel Committee, IIT Hyderabad. and Professor Manindra Agarwal, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Kanpur.
