Delhi’s annual air crisis has once again reared its ugly head in 2024 with this year marking a decade of killer pollution. The Delhi government has deployed several measures for curbing pollution such as smog towers and smoke guns. But all of them have not addressed the core issue with the pollution level in same places of Delhi being 10 times higher than the World Health Organization’s (WHO) safe limit. However, while people continue to suffer, there is no end to political bickering with both parties engaged in a blame game for who is really responsible for the killer pollution crisis.

Apart from bringing down temperatures, the rainfall also improved Delhi's air quality, which is usually at high pollution levels. The Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at a 'satisfactory' 61 at 9 am.
