Parvez Ahmad, Chairman and CEO of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank said that the employees of J&K Bank have come together to contribute Rs 11 crore towards the Chief Minister's Disaster Relief Fund. Mr Ahmed further committed to contributing Rs 50 lakh towards NDTV's #IndiaForKerala campaign. Mr Ahmad said that Jammu and Kashmir witnessed similarly disastrous floods in 2014 and a similar disaster was repeating itself in Kerala, which prompted staff members of J&K Bank to come forward and donate generously. Kerala has been hit by the worst floods in a 100 years. The Kerala Government estimates Rs 21,000 crore will be needed to rebuild the state. The funds are required to rebuild hundreds of flooded villages, thousands of damaged and destroyed homes and 10,000 kilometres of ravaged roads.
