Lok Sabha Elections: PM Modi Asks People To Vote In Record Numbers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday urged voters to exercise their franchise in record numbers as the seven-phase Lok Sabha polls started with polling being held in 102 constituencies.

Lok Sabha polls 2024 - billed by the BJP as a milestone to 2047 and the Opposition as a battle for democracy's survival - began today. In the first of the 7-phase exercise, voting is being held in 102 seats across 21 states and Union Territories

Elections 2024 Phase 1 Voting: The first phase of voting for the 18th Lok Sabha elections were held in 21 states and Union territories on April 19.

A total of 88 candidates, including seven women candidates, are in the fray for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections to be held on Friday in Madhya Pradesh, an official said on Thursday.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Thursday said that he will make sure the supply of Cauvery river water to the residents of Bengaluru by "hook or by crook".

Altogether 50,842 government employees have been deployed for conducting polls in the state.
