Chandrababu Naidu's Party Not To Contest Lok Sabha Elections In Telangana

TDP has decided not to contest the Lok Sabha polls in Telangana, and the beleaguered party is yet to take a call on whom to support in the state, though it is part of the NDA in the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, a senior leader of the party said.

The BJP on Wednesday announced its 10th list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, pitting Uttar Pradesh Minister Jaiveer Singh Thakur against Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav's wife Dimple Yadav from Mainpuri.

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader Dayanidhi Maran is once again contesting the Lok Sabha polls from Chennai Central constituency. The seat is a stronghold of the Maran family. Dayanidhi Maran is a three-time MP from here.

Of the 13,500 polling booths in Delhi, police have so far identified around 2,000 as "critical" based on past cases as well as the probability of deterioration of the law-and-order situation and extra security personnel would be deployed there.

The BJP on Wednesday fielded Neeraj Shekhar, the son of former prime minister Chandra Shekhar, from Ballia in Uttar Pradesh as the party released its 10th list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.
