Indira Gandhi Assassin Beant Singh's Son Contesting Polls From Punjab

A relative of one of the assassins of late Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, is contesting the parliamentary elections in Punjab from the Faridkot (Reserved) constituency as an Independent.

Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, twelve Maoists surrendered before security personnel in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district today, police said.

TDP has decided not to contest the Lok Sabha polls in Telangana, and the beleaguered party is yet to take a call on whom to support in the state, though it is part of the NDA in the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, a senior leader of the party said.
