Supreme Court Refuses Petition For Voting Facilities To Displaced Residents In Manipur Polls

The Supreme Court on Monday refused to entertain a plea seeking voting facilities for around 18,000 people displaced internally due to the ethnic strife in Manipur for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Authorities have seized cash, liquor, drugs, and freebies worth over Rs 4 crore in Jammu and Kashmir ahead of Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission of India said on Monday.

Even before the first phase of Lok Sabha elections begin, the enforcement authorities have seized over Rs 4,650 crores, the Election Commission of India (EC) said today.
