Coronavirus Highlights: India Adds 104 New Covid Cases In 24 Hours

Coronavirus Highlights: India Adds 104 New Covid Cases In 24 Hours
The active cases comprise 0.01 per cent of the total infections.

India logged 104 new coronavirus infections, while the active cases declined to 2,149, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.

The Covid case tally was recorded at 4.46 crore (4,46,81,040).

The death count stands at 5,30,726, the data updated at 8 am stated.

The active cases comprises 0.01 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate increased to 98.80 per cent, according to the ministry website.

No new COVID-19 case in Thane; active tally at 8
Maharashtra's Thane district has not reported any new COVID-19 case or death, an official said on Sunday. There are currently eight active COVID-19 cases in the district, which comes under the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, he said, according to news agency PTI.

The district has so far reported 7,47,414 cases of the viral infection and 11,971 deaths, the official said.

The recovery count in the district stood at 7,36,205, he added.

WHO Calls For More Covid Data From China After 60,000 Deaths In A Month

The World Health Organization on Saturday called on China to provide more data on its Covid situation, after Beijing reported almost 60,000 Covid-related deaths there in just over a month.

WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus made the request in a conversation with Ma Xiaowei, director of China's National Health Commission, said a statement from the organisation.

The total number of cases in the country have now reached 4.46 crore (4,46,80,936). With one death reconciled by Kerala, the number of virus-related deaths in the country has now reached 5,30,726.
