US Election Result 2020: As Trump Keeps Up Attack, Joe Biden Says "Need To Be Calm, Patient"
As Trump keeps up attack, alleging that elections are rigged, Joe Biden, in his address to the nation, today said:  "Look, we both know tensions are high. It can be high, especially after a tough election, like the one that we just had. But we have to remember that we have to remain calm and patient. Let the process work out, as we count all the votes.  know, we will be proving again as we have for 244 years in this country, that democracy works, your vote will be counted."

"I don't care how hard people try to stop it, I will not let it happen. People will be hurt, but our journey is for the more perfect union, and it keeps moving on," he said.

"In America we hold strong views and have strong disagreements, and that is okay," the White House challenged said in his brief address.

"Strong disagreements are inevitable in a democracy. Strong disagreements are healthy as it is a sign of a vigourous debate of deeply-held views. We must remember that the purpose of our politics isn't to total unrelenting, unending warfare... No, the purpose of our politics and the work of the nation isn't to fan the flames of conflict, but to solve problems, to guarantee justice, to give everybody a fair shot, and to improve the lives of our people. We may be opponents, but we are not enemies, we are Americans," he added.

"We may not agree on a lot of issues, but at least we can agree to be civil with one another. Let us put the anger and the demonisation behind us. It is time for us to come together as a nation to heal. It's not going to be easy, but we have to try. My responsibility as President will be to represent the whole nation. And I want you all to know that I will work as hard for those who voted against me, as those who voted for me. That is the job. It is called the duty of care for all Americans," Mr Biden asserted.

A fortnight ago almost every pollster had written off Donald Trump. Today, on Election Day, everyone is not that sanguine. So has Trump "Biden off" more than he can chew? Probably. But if states are won by small numbers, the Republicans are prepared to challenge every single narrow margin in the courts. And that is the real concern; Biden needs to be over 300 electoral votes at least to feel confident that courts will not overturn his victory by invalidating votes.
