Parliament Session LIVE News: The winter session commenced on Monday and will conclude on December 19

LIVE Parliament Winter Session 2025: Opposition MPs held a protest at the Parliament House complex against the air pollution in Delhi as the winter session entered its fourth day on Thursday. Delhi's air quality was in the "poor" category Thursday morning, with the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) at 299.

Three Congress MPs -- Manickam Tagore, Manish Tewari and Vijayakumar, alias Vijay Vasanth -- also moved adjournment motion notices in the Lok Sabha to discuss the rising air pollution in Delhi-NCR and other parts of North India.

Inside the Parliament, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will move the Health Security se National Security Cess Bill, 2025, for consideration and passing in the Lok Sabha. The bill aims to augment the resources for meeting expenditure on national security and for public health and to levy a cess for the said purposes on the machines installed and other processes undertaken by which specified goods are manufactured or produced and for matters connected therewith.

The winter session commenced on Monday and will conclude on December 19.

"Children Are Dying": Sonia Gandhi On Air Pollution
Congress leader Sonia Gandhi was among various opposition leaders who staged a protest in the Parliament complex over the issue of air pollution in Delhi. Gandhi asked the government to take action.

"It is the government's responsibility to do something, as children are dying. Old people like me are also finding it difficult," she told reporters after the protest.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge was also among the opposition leaders present at the protest.

"Which Season Should We Enjoy?" Priyanka Gandhi On Air Pollution
"Which season should we enjoy? Look at the situation outside," said Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra while protesting in Parliament against the air pollution.

"Children are unable to breathe... The situation keeps getting worse year after year. Only statements are made every year; no concrete action is taken. We have all said that the government has to take action, and we all stand with them. This is not a political issue that we would point fingers at each other," she told reporters.
