#AllForBengal: An Initiative To Help Those Affected By Cyclone Amphan In West Bengal

On May 20, Cyclone Amphan hit West Bengal, affecting almost six crore people. Many parts of the state have faced the devastation due to Cyclone Amphan. The powerful Cyclone destroyed thousands of homes, crops in thousands of acres, livelihoods lost; the poorest have been hit the hardest. In order to help West Bengal resurrect, a two hour special #AllForBengal telethon was organised to raise funds. The money will be used in providing food, shelter, hygiene and sanitation material, home-based learning to children and livelihood restoration of marginal farmers and returnee migrant workers.

Interventions include providing food/non-food Items and WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), specific focus on personal hygiene for women/ adolescent girls. A large focus is also directed towards the restoration of livelihood, dignity and overall well-being.
